The mission of the Duchess Club of Ocean Springs is to serve, support and invest in the children and families of Ocean Springs through hands-on community work and fundraising. Vice president Jennifer Noles tells us more.

For over 77 years, the Duchess Club of Ocean Springs has been quietly making a difference in our community. What started as a small group of local women with a heart to help children and families in need has grown into a lasting legacy of service, generosity and impact. From providing food and school supplies to funding scholarships and supporting local programs, our mission always has remained the same: uplifting the children of Ocean Springs and investing in their future.
WHO ARE YOUR MEMBERS?
Our club is comprised of 30 active members, each bringing something special to the table. Many of these incredible women have dedicated over 25 years to serving our community through this organization.
We are a diverse group of professionals and leaders, from real estate, law and education to healthcare, therapy and beyond, along with wonderful women who are now enjoying retirement. Together, we share a common passion for giving back and making a difference in the lives of others
WHAT’S NEW AND EXCITING WITH YOUR CLUB?
We recently wrapped up our inaugural event, Dolly’s Rhinestone Round Up, and it was an incredible success — raising meaningful support for our community.
In the fall, we kick off our annual Christmas ornament sale and turn our focus to one of our most cherished efforts: the Doll & Toy Charity Drive, bringing joy to children in need during the holiday season.
HOW IS YOUR CLUB MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT?
Each year, we provide a full Christmas for over 100 children, helping make the holiday season truly special for families in need. Throughout the school year, we stock and support food pantries in every school within the Ocean Springs School District, ensuring children have access to essentials. We support the Backpack Buddies program weekly, and we also offer financial assistance to families facing hardship and work closely with school counselors to identify and support students whose families are struggling.
From providing caps, gowns and yearbooks to offering a specialized scholarship program, we are committed to uplifting students at every stage. Last year, we were especially proud to contribute funds toward inclusive playground equipment, creating a space where children of all abilities can play, connect and thrive.
HOW DOES YOUR CLUB EMPOWER OR SERVE WOMEN?
While our mission is centered on serving children and families, our organization also empowers women in meaningful and lasting ways. We unite a diverse group of women from all backgrounds and stages of life, creating a space for connection, collaboration and purpose. Through service, leadership opportunities and community involvement, our members grow both personally and professionally. Many of our women have dedicated decades to this organization, mentoring newer members and continuing a legacy of compassion, strength and impact.
WHAT HAVE LEARNED OR GAINED PERSONALLY BY BEING INVOLVED WITH THE CLUB?
One of the greatest things I’ve gained from being part of this organization is perspective. Being closely connected to the needs within our community has deepened my compassion and reminded me how impactful even the smallest acts of kindness can be.
I’ve also formed meaningful friendships with incredible women who inspire me daily through their generosity, dedication and servant hearts. Their example has challenged me to grow — not just as a leader, but as a person.
WHAT ARE THE CLUB’S GOALS OR HOPES?
Looking ahead, our goal is to continue growing our impact while staying true to the heart of our mission and serving the children and families of our community.
WHAT DOES THE CLUB DO WELL, AND WHAT IS IT SEEKING TO IMPROVE?
One of the things our organization does best is meeting real needs in a meaningful, hands-on way. We are deeply connected to our community and work closely with schools and families to ensure our support goes exactly where it’s needed most. Our strength lies in our consistency, compassion and the dedication of our members who show up year after year.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD OUR AUDIENCE KNOW ABOUT YOUR CLUB?
Everything we do is powered entirely by volunteer service and community support. There are no paid roles — just a group of women who care deeply about Ocean Springs and are committed to showing up for those in need.
We also are proud that our impact is local and direct. Every dollar raised stays right here in our community, going straight to children, families and schools within the Ocean Springs School District. At its heart, our organization is built on relationships, compassion and a shared belief that when a community comes together, real change happens.
