Suit up for a stylish summer

It wouldn’t be summertime without pool days and finding the cutest swimsuit to show off your figure. This season’s swimwear is forging a whole new path. It’s funny how trends work. For instance, I remember when bikinis were the most popular swimsuit style. As we’ve shifted to flatter more bodies, which come in all shapes and sizes, I love the diversity we’re seeing in swimwear.

Here are a few trends at the top of my list:

1. A ONE PIECE WITH STYLE

One-piece swimsuits are usually my go to. I love how they make me feel slim without showing too much. Now, one-pieces have so much personality that you want to wear them all the time. For example, this one piece from Summer of Spivey caught my eye. Not only is it a simple silhouette, but it comes with adjustable shoulder ties. It’s also reversible, and you can remove and place the frilly tie any way you want.

2. POWER COLORS

We all want to stand out this summer. The only way to do it is with a bold color that screams, “I’m here.” Popular colors I’m seeing are summer orange (it’s bright), greens, blues, and even a mixture of colors placed together for maximum impact — like this cute option from Target.

3. HIGH CUT AND HIGH WAISTED

Whether you love the coverage of a one-piece or the sizzle of a bikini, this is a trend that can do both. It’s a great choice whatever your swimwear preferences. Especially If you are a high-rise fan who doesn’t mind a little cheek action, you will love this fit from Nasty Gal.

4. CHIC COVERUPS

Now that you’ve found the perfect swimsuit, you need a cute cover up. The trendiest options can be very sheer, or you can make a statement with a maxi kimono like this one from Free People. This kimono allows you to wear it on or off the beach. It’s easy to wear and will complement any color suit you choose.
