Tayla McKinney is an ambitious, up-and-coming 25-year-old who was born and raised in Gulfport. She has achieved many accolades in her young life, including being crowned the 2017 homecoming queen at the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a master’s of art degree in communication sciences and disorders from Louisiana State University and most recently garnering local and national attention for the viral video of the engagement to her fiancé, James Jourdan. After earning her master’s degree last May, McKinney wanted to return to the Coast to give back to the community that helped her become successful. She’s now working as a speech language pathologist for the Gulfport School District. Here are the beauty products she’s currently loving:

A fragrance-free cleanser, this product leaves my face feeling rich and hydrated. Paired with the Cetaphil daily facial moisturizer SPF 15, dryness doesn’t stand a chance.
VASELINE ORIGINAL LIP THERAPY
I carry these Vaseline lip balms with me everywhere I go. I love the way they instantly soften and soothe my lips year-round, especially during the chilly winter months. I recommend Vaseline to everyone, as it promotes healthier, more beautiful lips.
CRYSTAL GLOSS LIP GLOSS
The perfect way to accentuate the lip on any given occasion is a clear lip gloss. It gives that necessary, extra “pop” without overdoing it. I don’t have a preference when it comes to lip gloss brands and simply apply any brand that has a nice, smooth feel.
OPI NAIL POLISH
When I can’t get to the nail salon, I always have this OPI polish on hand in the shade Alpine Snow. It’s fast drying, long lasting and trendy.
