Shellie Davis is a mortgage underwriter and owner of a wedding venue, Cottonwood Manor, which allows her to be part of two of the biggest milestones in people’s lives.

Q: Tell us about yourself and the impact you are making.
A: On one side, I help couples build the foundation for their future through homeownership, and on the other, I get to be a small part of the day their forever begins.
The impact goes far beyond finances or a beautiful space. I love being able to support couples in ways money can’t buy and bringing peace during stressful moments, offering guidance and creating an experience they’ll never forget. Knowing I get to play a role in both where their story begins and where it grows makes it all so meaningful to me.
Q: What are you passionate about and why?
A: I’m deeply passionate about helping people wholeheartedly. In every area of my life, I’m drawn to showing up for others in meaningful ways — from offering guidance and bringing a sense of calm during stressful moments to simply being someone people can trust. I believe true impact isn’t always found in big gestures, but in the consistent, genuine care you give to others.
Being able to support people during some of the most important seasons of their lives is something I don’t take lightly. It’s what drives me, fulfills me and continues to shape the way I serve both personally and professionally.
Q: What special achievements or awards are you most proud of?

A: One of my proudest achievements has been my first year owning Cottonwood Manor. In that first year, we were almost fully booked — which was incredibly rewarding and affirming. What makes it even more meaningful is that this happened while we were actively building, improving and pouring into the property to make it the best it can be.
Balancing growth, vision and a full calendar of weddings wasn’t always easy, but it showed me what’s possible with hard work, heart and a commitment to creating something special. Seeing couples choose our venue to celebrate such an important day in their lives is something I’m truly proud of.
Q: What quote or mantra do you live by that has helped you to become successful?
A: I believe great customer service and a strong prayer life will take you further than anything else. When you truly care for people and keep your faith at the center, everything else falls into place.
