If you’ve been craving real-deal Nashville hot chicken on the Coast, consider this your official new hot spot alert. Rip’n Hot Chicken now serves this Music City staple in downtown Biloxi, behind Ground Zero Blues Club. After one visit, I can confidently say this is not your average fried-chicken joint.
WHAT WE ORDERED (AND LOVED):
- The Hot Chicken OG Sandwich is a classic done right: crispy, spicy chicken piled high with house-made slaw and thick-cut pickles on a soft bun. It’s messy in the best way, with that signature Nashville oil soaking just enough into the bread.
- Then there’s the Filthy Animal Sandwich — which lives up to its name. Think hot chicken stacked with creamy cheddar mac, pickles and comeback sauce. It’s indulgent, over-the-top and totally worth it.
- If you’re feeling extra, the Hot Chicken Mac Bowl layers shredded cheddar, pickles, green onion, comeback sauce and ranch over mac and cheese.
- The Hot Chicken Voodoo Fries follow the same fully loaded philosophy: crispy fries buried under cheese, spice and sauce.
- Whatever you do, save room for the Banana Pudding. It’s made in-house by the co-owner, Erin, and is cool, creamy and the perfect way to tame the heat.
Speaking of heat, you get to choose your level of bravery. From Southern (no heat) to mild, medium, Nashville hot and the aptly named “burnin’ ring of fire,” there’s a spice tier for everyone.
The vibe inside is just as memorable as the food. Red Christmas lights glow overhead while a disco ball hangs proudly. The walls are covered in art and pop culture icons, from Johnny Cash to Jeff Spicoli. It’s quirky, fun and full of personality. Even the chicken footprints guiding you through the space feel playful.
A BOLD, FLAVORFUL ADDITION TO DOWNTOWN BILOXI
Owners Adam Ripmaster and Erin Rose lived in Nashville for more than 20 years before moving back to the Coast to be closer to family. After falling in love with downtown Biloxi’s growth and energy, they decided to bring an authentic taste of Music City here. From the brine to the breading to the signature spicy slather, the fare screams Nashville.
The result? A bold, flavorful addition to our local food scene. Come hungry. Bring friends. And maybe start at mild your first time … .
