Amy Doescher is a Coast native and a residential architect dedicated to rebuilding and strengthening her community. She opened her own firm, Doescher Designs PLLC, over seven years ago.
With a deep understanding of the coastal way of life, she strives to design homes that reflect how people truly live here — welcoming new residents, creating lasting places for families to enjoy and fostering meaningful connections along the way.
Q: WHAT YOU’RE PASSIONATE ABOUT AND WHY?
As a wife and mother to three young boys, I’m passionate about creating a future they can be proud of — one rooted in connection, care and a strong sense of place. Family means everything to me, and that’s why I’m dedicated to helping build the best community possible for them.
The city of Bay Saint Louis holds a special place in my heart; I’ve witnessed its many phases and the incredible resilience it showed rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina. That experience inspires me to give back through service — as chairman of the Planning and Zoning Board and by supporting fundraising efforts for CASA of South Mississippi — helping ensure our community continues to grow with purpose and heart.
Q: WHAT SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS OR AWARDS ARE YOU PROUD OF?
My first professional achievement as owner of Doescher Designs PLLC was having my first home design featured in the Summer 2021 issue of Stages Mississippi Magazine. I’m proud to have served as commissioner and chairman of the Bay Saint Louis Planning and Zoning Board since 2017.
In 2024, I was selected to serve on the BSL 2045 Board and honored to receive the Hancock County Community Development Foundation Small Business Grant, which has supported the continued growth of my architectural practice. Most recently, being named one of Gulf Coast Woman magazine’s 100 Successful Women to Know in 2025 was a meaningful recognition of the work and commitment I’ve poured into both my profession and my community.
