After several years of working in the beauty industry, Rachel Bridges decided it was time to forge her own path.
Thus, Bridges Skin + Body was born — and the popular Gulfport day spa has earned a loyal following since opening its doors nine years ago.
“The business has grown substantially over the years,” she says, “just as I have grown professionally.”
Virtually any aesthetic service a client could want, from facials and massages to hair removal and lash extensions, is on Bridges’ menu. A move last year to a larger location on Pass Road allowed the spa to start offering nail services, including several types of manicures, pedicures and enhancements.
“Some of our most requested services are threading and sugaring, which are great alternatives to waxing, hydrafacials, lash lifts, tension treatment 360 massages and maternity massage,” Bridges says. She adds that the Bridges team not only has years of experience, but also constantly invests in education to sharpen their skills and keep up with the latest industry trends.
The spa also sells an array of high-end skincare products, including Revision Skincare, Elta MD, and Antonym Beauty. These are available in house and via the Bridges website, which clients also can use to schedule their services.
Above all, according to Bridges, the staff strives to create a soothing, non-intimidating experience for every patron.
“The purpose of my business is to offer a comfortable environment for our clientele to relax and treat themselves to self-care,” Bridges says. “With the daily stressors that we all have to deal with, it’s important to make time for yourself and to make YOU a priority.”
