Lollie + Pop: A sweet spot for style and smiles

Taylor Favre and Jackye Hansen bring quality children’s fashion and heartfelt service to Bay St. Louis

As moms themselves, Taylor Favre and Jackye Hansen know the struggle of finding cute clothes that fit a child just right — and they’ve teamed up to offer a solution.

The idea for their business, Lollie + Pop: A Children’s Shoppe, was born while the duo worked together at Crane Builders LLC — the family business Hansen went into with her father. Both friends were craving a change, and when the right retail space became available, they followed their instincts.

“So, we tossed around ideas of what we could create together, and, as moms, we landed on a children’s boutique,” Hansen says, “We jumped right in and haven’t turned back.”

Their venture, Lollie + Pop, opened last April in Bay St. Louis and has earned rave reviews ever since — with fans praising the store’s friendly service, quality clothing and sweet atmosphere. For these reasons and others, the children’s boutique was voted the overall winner in GCW’s Best Women-Owned Small Business Contest.

From its spring ribbon-cutting to its first holiday season, the store has become a go-to spot for local families or visitors looking for a unique shopping experience.

“Lollie really has something for everyone,” Favre says. “From gifts to clothing to games, it’s really hard to walk out empty handed.”

‘OUR PURPOSE IS TO FILL THE VOID’

Both Favre and Hansen have deep ties to the Coast; Hansen grew up between Waveland and New Orleans, and after graduating from Louisiana State University with a degree in construction management, she went to work at Crane Builders. Favre, a Bay St. Louis native, as well as an Ole Miss and University of Southern Mississippi alum, joined her there in 2021.

“Now married with two littles, family is very much a part of our work environment,” Favre says. “Owning a children’s boutique is a fun twist to our regular day to day.”

The pair noticed a lack of places to buy classic, yet trendy, kids’ clothing in the area, which fueled their passion for the business. Their children range in age from 1 to 8, Favre says, “and local options are just not there.”

“Our purpose is to fill the void and make locals’ lives easier by providing a one-stop shop for clothing, accessories and gifts ranging from newborn to 16 for both boys and girls,” she adds. “We offer special-event attire, athleisure and everything in between.”

Hansen points out that the store also carries gifts and accessories for milestones like birthdays, baptisms and first communions.

“We even offer monogramming in store, so the most precious items can be personalized,” she says. “This, combined with the wide range of sizing and topped off with our easy shop access, helps set us apart.”

‘A GRANDMOTHER’S HEAVEN’

As they enter the last months of 2025, Favre and Hansen are excited about upcoming improvements and events at Lollie + Pop, including a visit from Santa on Small Business Saturday — which falls on Nov. 29. Meanwhile, they’re converting storage areas into usable floor space to expand the store’s shopping experience. Changes will bring the shoe section to a more comfortable setting — allowing for ample space to try on and test out footwear.

“We are also adding a dance line … from ballet tights to customized leotards and team wear,” Favre says. “All items besides the customized leotards will be available to all for purchase.”

The co-owners credit store manager Angela Ezell, who runs the store’s day-to-day operations, with helping get the word out about the boutique and grow its customer base. But the biggest driver of their success, they say, is their loyal patrons.

“Just last week, someone came in and said, ‘This is just a grandmother’s heaven,’” Hansen says, “and it made me smile!”
