Spring style refresh: trendy pieces for every budget

Now that we’re well into spring, this is the perfect time to clean out a few drawers and take a fresh look at what’s hanging in your closet.

The good news? Refreshing your wardrobe doesn’t mean starting over or breaking the bank. A few thoughtful and trendy pieces can make what you already have feel new and stylish again.

Here’s a roundup of trendy, easy-to-mix items that complement what you already own. For each piece, you will find one splurge-worthy option alongside a more budget-friendly alternative.

Don’t want to spend a fortune on fashion this spring? No worries! Good style is for everyone! No matter your budget, spring is an ideal time to experiment with your style. Mix it up and add some new, funky pieces this season!

OVAL SUNGLASSES

Oval sunglasses are everywhere right now, and for good reason. They complement any face shape and can elevate an otherwise simple outfit. I like high-quality sunglasses that have some weight to them, but I also lose things easily — meaning here’s a good case to be made for either the Meller or the Amazon option.

Amazon Sojos ($16)

BARREL JEANS

In my experience, finding the right pair of jeans is an experiment. A style or silhouette that works for one person might not work for another, and barrel jeans are a great example. They have aspects of both straight and baggy jeans, and they pair well with many types of shoes.

Free People is widely credited with mainstreaming the barrel jean trend, but if the price gives you sticker shock, Old Navy has you covered.

BUTTON-UP CARDIGAN

Button-up sweaters are a classic and still very practical in the spring and summer. Whether you wear one to church, to work or over a flowy dress on a windy night, a cardigan is such a closet staple. I love a neutral, cream color for maximizing wear, but if you want to go bolder, a bright color would be fun!

Abercombie & Fitch ($60 on sale)
H&M ($16)

STUDDED BAG

Studs make accessories infinitely cooler, and these fierce bags are a case in point. If you’re looking for a high-quality everyday carryall, the Mango bag is a great buy. But if you’re just looking to try the trend and don’t necessarily want an investment piece, the Cotton-On bag is a great alternative.

Mango ($180)
Cotton On ($20 on sale)

No matter your budget, spring is an ideal time to experiment with your style. Mix it up and add some new, funky pieces this season!
